Walking with God in Obedience

"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." — Philippians 2:8 (KJV)

Obedience to Christ is more than just following rules—it’s about surrendering our hearts to God and trusting Him completely. It means choosing His way over our own, even when it’s hard or doesn’t make sense. True obedience flows from love, not fear. Jesus Himself said,

"If ye love me, keep my commandments." — John 14:15 (KJV).

Jesus is our perfect example. He didn’t obey out of duty, but out of love for the Father and for us. He humbled Himself, leaving heaven’s glory to walk among us, and He submitted to the will of God—even when it led to the cross. His obedience brought salvation to the world, and because of His sacrifice, we can have eternal life.

But obedience isn’t just about the big moments; it’s about the daily choices we make. Are we listening when God calls us to forgive, to love, to step out in faith? Are we surrendering our worries and trusting His plan? Sometimes, obedience feels difficult, but when we follow God’s voice, we find peace, joy, and a deeper relationship with Him.

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to walk in obedience as Jesus did. Help me to trust You, even when I don’t understand. Give me the strength to follow Your voice and the faith to surrender my will to Yours. Thank You for Jesus, who showed me what true obedience looks like. In His name, Amen.
